1. 400 Years of Sumitomo Group History The Sumitomo Group began more than 400 years ago when Masatomo Sumitomo opened a book and medicine store in the city of Kyoto, Japan. Over the next 100 years, the Sumitomo family developed a leading presence in copper refining, which led to the family opening the Besshi copper mine. From these beginnings, the Sumitomo group continued to grow and diversity to become one of the largest corporate groups in the world. Even after 400 years, the Sumitomo family business spirit” is alive in each of the Sumitomo group companies. 3. More than 65 Years in Drive Technologies Sumitomo Drive Technologies of Sumitomo Heavy Industriesbegan early in the 20th century. In 1911, Sumitomo Machinery Co., Ltd. began manufacturingdirect-current electric motors(3.7kW) for the Besshi copper mine. In the late 1930s’, the company formed a technical cooperationagreement with CYCLO Getriebebau Lorenz Braren KG of Germany. In 1939, Sumitomo Drive Technologies was born whenSumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. began to manufacture CYCLO Drives. In 2003, Sumitomo Drive Technologies was implemented as aglobal group brand to bind all power transmission businesses ofthe world. For more than 65 years, Sumitomo Drive Technologies continuesto lead the world in knowledge and innovation in power transmissionand control devices. Sumitomo Drive Technologies strives to be the“dependable partner” for our customers. The first trial manufactured CYCLO Drive.
5. Features of Paramax Drives Housing Gears High quality cast iron FC200 Casehardened alloy steel SCM822H Hardness HRC 58-62 25 pressure angle tooth form Precise ground finish AGMA gear quality number 11 Bearings Taper roller bearing or spherical roller bearing High cleanliness vacuum degassed alloy steel Oil Seals Deal lip seals Nitrile, Standard Shaft Heat treated alloy steel SCM440H Ground finish
5. Features of Paramax Drives Gearing Gear design is based on the AGMA standards with tooth modifications developed with computer technology. The resulting gearing has quieter operating characteristics, improved shock capacity, and longer life. Every PARAMAX 9000 series speed reducer is designed with precisely balanced gear combinations. All gearing is produced from vacuum degassed alloy steel. Helical gears are produced with 25 normal pressure angle hobs at increased helix angles. This produces stronger and quieter gearing.
5. Features of Paramax Drives Driveunit Mounting Right-angle models allow direct motor mounting. This eliminates the need for coupling and simplifies motor installation, enabling more compact designs. Universal housing allows horizontal, vertical and upright mountings. Horizontal Vertical Upright Housing Cooling FEM analysis is used to maximize housing strength and rigidity, thereby ensuring correct gear alignment and noise reduction. Depending upon the application, an additional cooling system may be required to increase the cooling efficiency. New designed fan and conduct air cowling gain larger thermal capacity.
