  2. Text to Text • In the Catcher in the Rye the main character Holden gets kicked out of private school and goes stomping around New York City. A situation similar to this would be the boys in The Lord of the Flies and how they are going around the tropical island.

  3. Text to Self • I am like Holden because I like to do my own thing and in my own way. I don’t like to sit in school and be lectured on, and by the way he got kicked out, he doesn’t either. I also like to just have some days to myself and just do whatever I feel like, he did that by going to New York City.

  4. Text to World • A world event that would be related to The Catcher in the Rye would be drop out rates all across the country. Kids these days are just starting to not care anymore. And that needs to change because then they wont be able to be part of the working community when they are older, for they dropped out of high school.
