Important Vocabulary • Greenhouse gases: Any gases that contribute to global warming including carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, and the fluorocarbons ("Greenhouse gas," ). • Global Warming: “an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect"(Dictionary.com). • Food Miles: the distance that it takes for the food to get from the farm source to the grocery store. Food miles do not include the distance or time it takes to get the food from the grocery story to your home. (Deneen). • Fossil Fuels: Natural gas, for instance coal. (Hogan)
