  2. A power reset removes all information from the laptop’s memory without dealing with any personal data. If you go for power reset, it will resolve issues like Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, the keyboard isn’t responding or any other external devices locking up. LENOVO Support suggests the following things to be kept in mind before you begin a Power reset:

  3. Continue…. • Take out all the peripheral devices. Turn on your Lenovo Laptop & test it and then connect one device at a time. • Turn over the PC & look for a battery compartment door.

Perform a Power Reset with a removable battery • Shut down your system and remove your system from any port replicator or docking station. • Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices like USB storage devices, external displays & printers. • Disconnect the AC adapter from your system.

  5. Continue… • Take out the battery from the battery compartment. • Now hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain any residue of electrical charge from the capacitors. • Replace the battery and plug adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect the peripheral devices.

  6. Continue…. • Turn on your laptop and use arrow keys the Start Windows Normally, and then hit the Enter key. • Now you have to reconnect each peripheral device, one device at a time until all devices connect again.
