Appropriate food . Equipment . Teaching . Decision re who will administer feed/flushes TUESDAY WEDNESDAY Patient admitted to Ward CI . Routine bloods obtained . Full explanation of procedure and consent form signed . Discussion re bowel habits . Ward Pharmacist review of medications – where possible change to liquids . Confirm with Endoscopy . NBM from 12 Midnight (if early PEG) . Review prior to procedure . Safe transfer to Endoscopy department – with PEG kit . PEG INSERTED . Return to Ward . Nil by PEG, feed at 12 hrs . Observations . Ensure comfort . Feed prescribed THURSDAY . Confirm feeding arrangements at home – set up and ready to be initiated? . Carer/patient assessed on flushes and care of PEG . Ward staff happy with technique . Is patient well enough for Friday discharge? . Transport . TTOS . DN referral . Wound site check . Patient given name and nos for troubleshooting . Tube info .
