Introduction • HFTP New City Chapter is the founding chapter of the HFTP organization previously called Hospitality Accountant’s Association which began in 1952. • Amid the challenges, the chapter from year to year has achieved its organizational goals of promoting hospitality financial and technology knowledge while reaching out to the community to further strengthen our presence as a professional organization. • Our accomplishments over the years are numerous: the following slides serve to highlight few of these accomplishments within the last five years.
Tomorrow’s Children Funds Events • Under the auspices of then Vice President Hani Copti, CHAE, HFTP New York City Chapter held two spectacular events: • Year 2000 - Tomorrow’s Children Fund awards dinner that resulted in $45,000 donated to the Tomorrow’s Children Fund’s Don Imus Ranch for children with cancer. • Year 2001 - Tomorrow’s Children Fund awards dinner that resulted in $50,000 donated to the Tomorrow’s Children Fund’s Don Imus Ranch for children with cancer.
News & Events HFTP NYC RECEIVED BEST OF NY AWARD City Tech Meets Hospitality Tech City Tech President Fred W. Beaufait was pleased to have lunch with officers of the Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP). The organization was among the honorees at City Tech's Best of New York dinner on May 22, 2003 in recognition of its leading role in providing information on finance and technology to the hospitality industry and its work in creating scholarship and internship opportunities for students. Representing HFTP were its then vice president, Calvester Legister and its former president, Joseph Isklander. In addition, President Beaufait and Dominick Sarica, executive director of the Office of Image & Visual Communication, represented City Tech. The pledge to work together that came from this meeting created new opportunities for City Tech students and allowed HFTP to benefit from the expertise found at the College. HFTP NYC: Strategic Board Meeting Results • After years of varied promotional, educational and networking events, in early 2000 a brainstorming strategic board meeting was held. • A template was developed to help the chapter’s continuity with respect to events planning and implementation. • Thereafter, each year the following four projects are undertaken: An education day, A charity golf outing, Toys for Tots drive and publication of a quarterly Newsletter. • Together, these four major projects currently serve as engines that drive HFTP-NYC publicity and community presence.

Brauner, Esq., of counsel Littler Mendelson, P.C.(1 CPE Credit) • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM – Lunch (Q & A Regarding Hotel Taxes) • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM – Navigating the New Excel - 2007 Software & Vista Environment presented by New Horizons (3 CPE Credits) • 4:05 PM - 4:55 PM – Benefits Of Handheld Devices presented by an industry expert(1 CPE Credit)
The Spectacular Golf Event 2007-2008 • The last charity fun filled golf event was once again a great success under the leadership of President Clare Cella, CPA. The host golf club for the past two years was the prestigious Saint Andrews Country Club. • Clare's experience and talent in organizing the golf outing for two consecutive years resulted in net proceeds that surpass the budgeted amount. • The net proceeds of $23,000 from the outing was donated to the Alzheimer's Association of NYC. • Link here for copy of donation letter and see next slide for movie highlight of this spectacular golf event.
The Last Toy For Tots Drive December 2007 • The Toy for Tots program is an annual effort undertaken by HFTP New York Chapter from November through December. • Each year new unwrapped toys are collected and donated to needy children by HFTP-NYC. 2007 was no exception, as success was achieved when HFTP-NYC Toy For Tots Committee, under the leadership of Director Elena Mitronich, donated boxes of toys and put a smile on some children's faces. HFTP-NYC Newsletter Publication • Each year HFTP New York City Chapter publish a quarterly newsletter. • No exceptions existed during the last years as we published the last quarterly newsletter during February 2008. • A link here will provide a preview of the Fall 2007 newsletter issued.
