Seminar Summary What Target Event Size: 8-16 people Cost to Attend: $0 Content Level: Intro and Intermediate Seminar Duration: 3-4 hours Proposed Presenters: Regional Academic Sales Team Products: This seminar supports NI LabVIEW, NI USRP • When • March 31,2013 – December 1, 2013 • Periodically in a given territory (e.g. quarterly), • One month removed from a larger event (e.g. a tradeshow), • In parallel to an NI event (e.g. NITS) • On-demand for use in a territory (e.g. for an on-site visit Who Target Audience: Educators, researchers and graduate students at 4 year universities proficient in the basics of wireless communications concepts but are new to LabVIEW. This audience should also be considering using a software defined radio in their research. Note: Undergraduate students are not a target for this seminar. • Why • Purpose: Educate professors, researchers and graduate students in the fields of science and engineering on the fundamental concepts of wireless signal acquisition.
So… what will attendees do during this seminar? • Through three main exercises that contain sub-sections, attendees will use LabVIEW and the NI USRP 2920 to create a FM radio receiver. • There are also supplementary exercises that teach attendees how to create a custom LabVIEW user interface, how to configure the USRP, and a glossary for the common terms used in this document.
