Dr. Fred Currell, a specialist in Molecular Physics, and Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons, an Astrophysics expert, visited I.C.D. to deliver engaging lectures on complex topics. The students demonstrated excellent understanding and enthusiasm for physics.

A mixture of year 12, 13 and 14 pupils were engaged in the lecture

Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons gave a lecture on a possible explanation as to the disappearance of the dinosaurs
Pupils were shown that the science they learn at ICD can be applied to things like asteroid collisions
Prof. Fitzsimmons shows a simulation of the Earth 15mins after an asteroid collision
Prof. Fitzsimmons took the opportunity to tell the pupils at 6th form about the importance of physics and following your passion
