Queens University Lecturers Come to I.C.D. to raise the profile of PHYSICS

Dr. Fred Currell, a specialist in Molecular Physics, and Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons, an Astrophysics expert, visited I.C.D. to deliver engaging lectures on complex topics. The students demonstrated excellent understanding and enthusiasm for physics.

  2. Introducing Dr. Fred Currell.Specialist on Molecular Physics

  3. Dr. Currell was able to explain his research by our Data projector

  4. A mixture of year 12, 13 and 14 pupils were engaged in the lecture

  5. Dr Currell blended learning styles to keep the attention of pupils

  6. Pupils at ICD were Quick to respond to his demonstrations of complex topics

  7. Explaining the way light behaves is relevant to GCSE and A level Physics

  8. Our Pupils did us proud and answered difficult and challenging questions on this new topic

  9. Mr Corvan meets Prof Fitzsimmons

  10. Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons is a specialist on Astrophysics at Queens

  11. Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons gave a lecture on a possible explanation as to the disappearance of the dinosaurs

  12. Pupils were shown that the science they learn at ICD can be applied to things like asteroid collisions

  13. Prof. Fitzsimmons shows a simulation of the Earth 15mins after an asteroid collision

  14. Prof. Fitzsimmons took the opportunity to tell the pupils at 6th form about the importance of physics and following your passion
