Motivation for profile retrieving of CO2 • Over-prediction of the annual-mean midday vertical gradients in most current model lead to miss-interpretation of carbon uptake in northern lands and tropical forests [Stephen et al., 2007, Sarrat et al., 2007] • Boundary layer CO2v.s.
