Welcome back, future leaders! • For today’s warm-up please do the following: • Grab a your student log and notebook from the crates. • Write in today’s date and objective on your student log. • Take out your homework – (yesterday’s timeline activity!) • Open your notebook and respond to the following prompts: There are currently over 380 million Christians in Africa, but by the year 2525, it is estimated that there will be 633 million. How do you think Christianity became so important to so much of Africa? Write one full paragraph.

Intro to Aksum: ________________________________________________________ Let’s see where we’re heading today! • Aksum was the name of a city and a kingdom which is essentially modern-day northern Ethiopia • The peak of Aksum’s power came with the invasion of Meroe around 320 CE, which caused the final decline of the Kushite kingdom AXUM conquers KUSH!
