The Landscape Has Changed • Airlines cut service • Fuel prices • Air travel drops double-digits • The result: Airport revenues go down Southwest sticks with plan to cut capacity by 4% in 2009 USA Today Fewer flights, higher fares As the cost of jet fuel rises, 6 leading airlines cut capacity. American Airlines' parent AMR to cut 6,500 or more jobs 2009 Passenger Boardings Jackson -12.4% Gulfport -34.9% Tupelo -33.8% Greenville -38.9% Delta Cuts Flights 20%--cuts workforce by 75K
