OSSD Requirements • 18 compulsory credits • 12 optional credits • 40 hours of community involvement activities • The provincial literacy requirement
Compulsory Credits • 4 English (one per grade) • 3 Mathematics (at least one in Grade 11 or 12) • 2 Science • 1 Art • 1 Canadian Geography • 1 Canadian History • ½ Civics • ½ Career Studies • 1 French-as-a-second language • 1 Health and Physical Education
ONE CREDIT FROM EACH OF THE 3 GROUPS • Additional credit in English, or French as a second language, or a Native language, or a classical or an international language, or social sciences and the humanities, or Canadian and world studies, or guidance and career education, or cooperative education • Additional credit in health and physical education, or the arts, or business studies, or French as a Second Language, or cooperative education • Additional credit in science (Grade 11 or 12), or technological education, or French as a Second Language or computer studies, or cooperative education

Special Programs • Cooperative Education • Should have a minimum of 16 credits and be 16 years of age or older and have passed GLC201 (Careers) • Links academics with work experience • Steps to University • Full year program • 2 credits EPS301 & HHG4M1 • A university professor teaches half the course and you get 1 university credit • Publishing • Full year program • 2 credits AWD3M1 and BTX4C1
Special Programs • Foods • 2 credits (HFN201 & GLN401) • Ideal for students pursuing a career in the hospitality industry or going to full-time employment
