The IDS Website Ajit Kurup IDS Meeting 17th January 2008
Introduction • We’ll soon have a new website www.ids-nf.org • It’s in the process of being registered • Wiki based system but with a structure similar to the existing website • Open for anyone to read • Could have private pages • Go over the main features • Requests for features and questions Ajit Kurup
Features • My idea of how the website should be organised • Based on the current website and ISS website. • Still in development. • Working group pages with uniform appearance • Statement of objectives, subgroup list, workshops, files, external links and link to mailing list • Subgroup pages • Statement of objectives, files and external links • IDS-NF Notes • Conference contributions and internal notes • Recent news, upcoming meetings and conferences Ajit Kurup
Questions • Is the suggested format of the working group pages OK? • Which pages, if any, do we want to keep private? • Current baseline off the main page? • Collection of pdf files in a table with version number(major number-minor number 1-minor number 2), date and note of changes. • R&D list for each working group? • Interface between groups? • Is there a physics group mailing list? • List of collaborators with email addresses? • Requests for features? Ajit Kurup
Plan for future • Wait for domain name to be registered. • Need to change the way the pages look i.e. create a theme. • Also, it’d be nice to have a logo. Current one is used for too many projects! • Once format of working group pages is decided the individual working groups can add content. • Write the help page • Procedures for creating an account, getting permission to edit pages and how to edit them. • Thanks to Kostas Georgiou for setting up the webserver and wiki. • Mail will be sent to the NF-IDS list when it’s ready.
