More ORDERING ISSUES • NOW THAT YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED THE RIGHT MODEL, ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER A BRITISH OR CHINESE? • OR • SHOULDN’T WE BUY THE HOE USING SOME SCIENTIFIC MEANS? • For example: • Should the hoe be cast iron or hot forged? • What’s the content in iron, manganese, carbon…in the hoe? • What’s the Rockwell hardness of that particular hoe? • How do I test the strength of this hoe before purchasing? • Is the log supposed to research the specifications before ordering or should it be program? Rlc humanitarian Catalogue Items can be found easily through filters either through the navigation pane on the left (looking in a particular subcategory) and/or by typing the name of the item in the description Advanced search filters such as Contains, start with, end with… are available
The catalogue has also an integrated ORDERING TOOL You can prepare your orders from the catalogue by simply adding a quantity in the Qty column of the desired item in the catalogue, which adds it to the order table above. This order will then be saved for later edit, but also exported to Excel
AUTOMATED EXCEL PR There is no additional work to be done. What is saved in the catalogue is also available straight in Excel in the standard ACF Excel format.
Self training VIDEOS The catalogue also includes three (3) self training video done with SCREEN2EXE for a total of 25 minutes which show all the key features from using filters to find the desired item, using the toolbar, changing definition of items, prices… to ordering and editing and refreshing data in Excel.

Technical details • Windows application with sdf database • Catalogue could be developed for tablets or mobile phones • Catalogue could be linked on internet via a Web service* and embedded into a logistics application or ERP • Excel procurement requests are basically xml files embedded in Excel so change in format can be done under 10 minutes • *A Web service is a method of communication between two electronic devices over the World Wide Web.
