What is the Schedule Planner? The Schedule Planner is a tool that empowers students to find the perfect class schedule, deliver an exceptional registration experience, and enhance one of the most critical points on the journey towards a degree. Improve Registration: Automated student schedule generation saving time and alleviating frustration. Balance Learning with Life: Customizing breaks allows students to schedule around obligations such as work, sports, or family while factoring in best learning times or styles. Generate all Possible Schedules: Use filters to customize results and visually browse the multiple options to find the perfect schedule. User friendly to any tablet, smart phone, or computer.
Student Pathway to Use Schedule Planner Step 1: Navigate to the Student Center (See Figure 1). Figure 1
Student Pathway to Use Schedule Planner (Cont.) Figure 2a Step 2: Notice that a “Bacterial Meningitis” or acknowledgement statement may pop up and require you to click “Okay”, update information, or click “I Agree” / “I Have Read” check boxes. (See Figures 2a and 2b). Figure 2b
Student Pathway to Use Schedule Planner (Cont.) Figure 3 Step 3: To access the Schedule Planner, click on the “Schedule Planner” link found in the Student Center (See Figure 3).
Student Pathway to Use Schedule Planner (Cont.) Step 4: • Click the “Click Here” link to access the Schedule Planner (See Figures 4). A pop up screen will open for you to begin the registration process. Accept pop ups for this website if nothing comes up initially. • DO NOT close this window titled “Start Scheduler” after you open the Schedule Planner as you must return to this window to send your schedule to the Shopping Cart in the Student Center. What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner Figure 5 Step 5: Select the appropriate term you wish to register for classes (See Figure 5).
What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner (Cont.) Step 6: Utilize the filters to change options as needed (See Figure 6): Course Status – Open Classes Only, Open & Full with Waitlist Open, or Open & Full) Locations – University of Houston, UH-Sugar Land, etc. Sessions – Typically, “Regular Academic Session” is most widely used. Switch Terms – Any term active for Schedule Planning will populate as an option. Colleges – Helpful to show only course sections associated with a specific college. Instruction Modes – Face to Face, Online, Hybrid, etc. Figure 6
What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner (Cont.) Figure 7a Step 7: Add any breaks appropriate to be scheduled around. These obligations could include time needed for anything such as work, sports, or family obligations (see Figures 7a, 7b, and 7c). Figure 7c Figure 7b
What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner (Cont.) Figure 8b Figure 8a Step 8: Add all courses you wish to build your schedule with (see Figures 8a, 8b, 8c, & 8d): Click “Add Course”. Type the subject code or use scroll bar to click the subject. Type the course number or use scroll bar to click the course. Click “Add Course”. Figure 8c Figure 8d
What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner (Cont.) Step 9: After you have added all needed courses, click on Generate Schedules (See Figure 9). Figure 9
What to Expect – Using the Schedule Planner (Cont.) Figure 11 Step 10: Based on the criteria selected in the filters, every available schedule is now ready for review (See Figure 10) . Additional filtering can be added as needed at any time. Place the mouse icon over the magnifying glass to display color grid of class times of a specific schedule (See Figure 11). Click on “View” to look at the full details of a specific schedule (See Figure 12). Figure 12 Figure 10

How to Exit the Schedule Planner Step 11: • After an acceptable schedule is created, click “Send to Shopping Cart” (See Figure 14a). Click “OK” when the pop up asks if you want to continue (See Figure 14b). • You may now close this “Schedule Planner” screen (See Figure 15) and go back to the “Start Scheduler” screen. How to Complete Registration Back to the Shopping Cart! • From the “Start Scheduler” screen, click on “Course Enrollment” (See Figure 16). Anyone that has previously registered should be familiar with next steps to complete registration as this part of the process has not changed. • Next, click the Term and “Continue” (See Figure 17) and click “Import Cart” (See Figure 18). How to Complete Registration Figure 20 For each individual section, verify all class information and click “Next”(See Figure 19). Click “Proceed to Step 2 of 3” (See Figure 20). Figure 19

How to Complete Registration Figure 23 Every section that was successfully added to the student’s schedule will have a status of success (green check). If there was an error, the student will receive a notification as to why the section was not added such as a requisite not being met and a red X(See Figure 22). Now the student decides if they wish to view/click “My Class Schedule” or attempt to add another section by clicking “Add Another Class” to repeat the process and click “Schedule Planner” on the next screen (See Figure 23).
