Physics Honour Society Overview Majors • Participation is by invitation. • Students with at least a B+ average in Physics (and have not failed any course) • Breakfast Treats twice each semester with interesting speakers • Certificates, pens, pins and bookstore voucher • After 2 consecutive semesters, guaranteed summer employment in the department for a month doing research Research Facilities New

  9. Electronics Club/Electronics Engineering • Participated in the IEEE SoutheastCon 2012 Hardware Competition • Placed 17th among 48 universities

Undergraduate Research and its Rewards • Staff Members Dr. Leary Myers and Mr. Leonardo Clarke as well as Graduate Students Stefan Watson and Vincent Taylor (Computer Science) won the Ministry of Science Technology, Energy and Mining Innovation Awards 2012, in the Resources / Knowledge Valorization Category for their invention of a Real Time Monitoring and Alert System. Other students involved were Anthony Drummonds and Sasha-Gaye Dixon. • System prototype completed at the Undergraduate level. Watson and Drummonds

  11. To The Aspiring Medical Physicists • M.Sc./Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Physics launched. • Jobs in radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine, teaching, consultancies
