What has the BTL-WG done in 2011? Processed over 100 BTL Clarification Requests Developed new content for the Test Package Updated process and policy documents Prepared the BTL Test Package 9.0 for release
Current Status New Test Package will be released soon New package will test devices up to and including Protocol_Revision 9 BTL-WG has already started work on the next Test Package. Contact the BTL Manager if you want to test a device > Protocol_Revision 9
What Test Package To Use? Devices of Protocol_Revision 7 or less have a choice (for a while) If they are on the waiting list and will be tested within 3 months of the release of the new Test Package they may choose which Test Package to test against. (5 or 9) If your device contains functionality not tested by the old Test Package but tested by the new, you will need to resubmit for retesting.
Upgrading Protocol Revisions Use the History of Revisions Create spread sheet of all revisions Determine if the feature you want to include requires a protocol revision change Determine which changes are required if you claim the new revision Determine which changes affect your device
Key Test Package Differences We can now test TrendLogMultiple, EventLog, StructuredView (Thanks to Reliable Controls and Sauter) Added tests for reading negative count out of trend logs. Time Master testing has changed. Restart parameter testing. Tests were updated to include new error codes. Fixes were applied to many existing tests. Data Link Layer Testing additions.
Developer Notes for PR 5 - 9 The log-status in the ReadRange-ACK of the old Trend Log object is now 3 bits. Number of bits in Objects Types Supported has changed. (30 bits for PR 5, 31 bits for PR 6, 7 and 8, and 38 bits for PR 9). Reliability property had new values added. (PR 7) Automatic Time Synchronization properties defined in the Device Object. (PR 7) Restart properties defined in the Device Object. (PR 7) Loop Object now contains the Deadband property. (PR 7) Allow unicast I-AM messages. (PR 8) Double check error codes returned. (PR ALL) B-AWS PR 9 requires support for AE-ELVM-A. B-AWS must support all objects for the claimed PR. (except life safety and access objects)
Protocol Revision 10 Expected Test Changes New primitive value objects New error codes for COV Notification Service New error codes for ReadRange New BIBB for ReadRange on any List property. New error codes for CreateObject New BBMD test to verify not re-forwarding messages. New MSTP test to verify IUT skips data frames not intended for the IUT.
Developer Notes for PR 10 PropertyStates for the EE object now exceeds context 15. Beware of the encoding differences once you pass context tag 15. Be able to handle the new odd and even date encodings. Character Set 0 is now UTF-8 vs just ANSI. Backup and Restore support changed to allow preparation times to be defined. With these changes all B-BC devices will be required to support Backup and Restore they claim PR 10.
