GENOCIDE. Mert Oşar. What is genocide ?. Genocide means group killing in Latin. The word “ Genocide”was first used by Raphael Lemkin , a polish, Jewish legal scholar . I think the best example for genocide is the annihilation of Jews , commited by Adolf Hitler.

  3. WhenwastheJewishgenocide? • TheJewishgenocidestartedbeforeandcontinuedduringtheWorldWar II. • Itwasalsoknown as the “Holocaust”. • Hitler attackedtheJewswith a groupcalledtheNazis.

Whydid Hitler start theholocaust? • Hitler thoughtthattheGermanpeoplewerethesuperiorrace on earth. • He wantedeveryoneto be German, especiallyblondandblue-eyed. • So he startedkillingtheJews in Germany. • Then he couldn’t stop andcausedthedeath of sixmillionJewsthatlived in Europe. • One-halfmilliongypsiesand 250,000 mentallyorphyscallydisabledpeoplewerealsokilled.
