Brief to the country context – main health and health sector related changes and challenges • Universal health system (SUS) • Public x Private (challenge): privateinsurance as commodities (40 million, internationalcompanies) • Family Health Strategy (largescale): 95% municipalities, 56% population – mainproblems: infrastructure, organizationandqualityofcare • New programs for expansionof PHC (Mais Médicos, outreachtoremoteandvulnerableareas – 13.300 doctorsdistributedthroughoutBrazilaccordingtovulnerabiltycriteria) • New programs for expansionand PHC-oriented medical training • Management and financial challenge: 200 millioninhabitants, more than 5,000 municipalities – leadingtoprivatizing management of HRH • Challengetoretain Family Health teams, especiallydoctorsandCHWs
