How to Make a Betta Fish Vase START By: Jennie Simpson, Joan Jackson, and Dr. Frank Flanders Georgia Agricultural Education Curriculum Office Georgia Department of Education June 2003
Materials Needed Fish Food Gemstones Plastic Liner Vase Peace Lily Betta Fish
The First Step Before you start: Rinse vase and gemstones with tap water to remove any dust that could harm the fish. B. Rinse all soil off the roots. Pull roots into hole cut into bottom of plastic liner. A. Remove plant from pot.
The Second Step A. Pour some bottled water into the vase 1 inch below the neck of the vase. B. Place some gemstones into the bottom of the vase.
The Final Step B. Insert plant into the top of the vase. Put moss or gemstones around plant. A. Gently place Betta fish into the vase.
You’re Finished! Now, you have a beautiful, natural way to decorate. Also, watching fish swim can reduce stress. Feed your Betta a small amount each day to keep the fish a bright color. Replace 25% of the water each week. Keep your Betta away from direct sunlight and heat. Enjoy! Warning: Never place more than one Betta into a vase at one time. They will fight each other and probably die. END
