Material Deprivation • Material deprivation of children in Armeniais measured as households’ lack of durable goods. • The following 9 durable goods have been included in the analysis: • refrigerator, • washing machine, • mobile telephone, • vacuum cleaner, • video recorder, • photo camera, • audio system, • car, • personal computer.

  13. Housing Deprivation • Housing problems can have an adverse impact on children’s health, safety, education and social development

  17. Children Needs • This is another way to measure child poverty, which focuses more on thesocial and cultural dimensions of poverty, likely to affect children’s development more than the deprivation of objects or facilities.
