  3. BIG’s Timeline • 2005 – informally established • 2007 - 501c3 nonprofit organization • 2009 – Changing Gears • January 2013 – Mission, vision & strategic plan • July 2013 – Hired executive director

What We Do • Advocate – work with elected officials and staff to establish policies that create safe, comfortable bike routes throughout the area • Educate – initiate programs that provide safety training for cyclists and motorists and create public awareness campaigns that promote safe cycling • Build Community – represent all people who ride bikes through program participation and outreach opportunities

  5. Changing Gears Providing people with safe, reliable transportation

  6. BIG Opportunities • BIG Salutes – rides that showcase transportation improvements • Community Events – National Trails Day, Bike Month and Earth Day

  7. BIG Opportunities • Public Input Forums – creating one voice for all people who ride bicycles • Greensboro Ride of Silence – part of an international ride to honor bicyclists seriously injured in crashes with motor vehicles • BIG’s Apple Pie Ride – annual fundraiser
