She resides in Chico, California. & 120 DRUMS OF THUNDER Open to the public September 17th, 1884 Haskell opened its doors as a non-reservation boarding schools to take the American Indian children away from the reservation to avoid its influences. On this day Haskell is hosting a ceremony that will honor and recognize the sacrifice of the first students and their families that endured the hardships and struggles in the early years of the school.
