Why a policy for integrated risk management • The countries of the region and the SICA institutions have been making investments and creating policies, strategies, plans and agreements in pursuit of sustainable development and secure. • Risk Management has grown in importance compared to traditional schemes of disaster response and is now regarded as a crosscutting and integral to sustainable development and human security of our societies. • The pace is still increasing impact of disasters shows that the processes of risk reduction and prevention need to be intensified and articulate strengthened commitments and investments increased. • The institutional arrangements and planning, guided by international and regional agreements, they also need to be strengthened and updated so as to include and consolidate the comprehensive view of risk management and its relationship to development indivisible.
