The Break-up of the Americas • Britain will lay claim to much of the east coast in North America • Spain will claim Florida, Mexico, and present day, TX, NM, AZ, CO, CA, NV, UT, and bits of OK. • France will claim much of the area in the Plains region, and Canada.

The First Colony (Aka the Lost Colony) • We are going to complete research on the Lost Colony. This colony is the first British colony on American soil. So how did it become lost? Why didn’t it succeed? We will answer these questions and more.
Today’s activity: • Log-on to Edmodo.com. • Find the assignment “The Lost Colony.” • Type directly into the document that I have attached. You MUST use COMPLETE SENTENCES!!!! • You are to work with the person who is sitting across from you. • If you do not finish this in class, it is homework.
