Islam in Saudi Arabia • The city of Mecca is located in Saudi Arabia. • After Muhammad's death, his followers elected a caliph to be their leader. • A caliph is both a spiritual and political leader. • Caliphs helped spread the Arab empire through North Africa and what is now Spain.
Saudi Arabia Today • Is ruled by the Saud Family • Largest city is Riyadh

Use the papers I have given you and page 349 in your books to complete the assignment. Follow the steps below: • Answer each one of the following questions in 2 or more sentences • How are women treated in Saudi Arabia? • How would this make you feel if you lived in Saudi Arabia? • Why do you think women are treated this way? • Pretend you are the King of Saudi Arabia and want to start treating women more fairly. Write out new laws for women. You will also come up with a new dress code for women. This is all due today. Divide up the work evenly. - Must create ten new laws for women. Pictures must be colored.
