  2. Tintype (1865-1910) Tintype, which is also known as Melainotype or Ferrotype is a photograph that is made by creating a direct positive on a sheet of iron metal that’s darkened by painting. Tintype did not need drying and only took a few minutes for the photograph to be produced after it was taken.
