2. Georgie- A boy in the 4th grade. He is an only child and a dwarf. Being a dwarf means he is shorter then most other kids. His favorite thing to do is walk dogs with his best and only friend, Andy. • Andy- Georgie’s best friend in 4th grade. He is an only child like Georgie. He respects Georgie as a person and doesn’t stare or consider him different. Andy thinks of Georgie as a normal kid. He also walks dogs with Georgie in their dog-walking business. • Jeanie the Meanie- Is a bully in 4th grade who makes fun of Georgie. Jeanie doesn’t have any friends. She follows Georgie around teasing him (Georgie thinks that’s her favorite thing to do.) • Georgie’s Mom- Has big news for the family: Georgie is going to be a big brother! Georgie isn’t that excited about the news. Georgie’s mom is a musician who plays instruments. She is also a Piano tutor. • Georgie's Dad- Is a musician in the same band as Georgie’s Mom. His favorite thing to do is play music. • Russ- A guy in Georgie and Andy’s class who is Andy’s friend and wants to be in their dog walking business. He goes to the same church as Andy. Georgie starts to worry that Russ is taking away Andy from him. • Allison- Is a 7th grader who takes piano lessons from Georgie's Mom. Georgie has a giant crush on her and is nervous to talk to her. 3. School- This is where most of Georgie’s problems develop. At school there are special things installed for Georgie such as a stool, a shorter desk, and a shorter coat hook to make Georgie feel like he’s just like everyone else. Georgie’s house- Where Georgie and Andy hang out most of the time. This is where they have dinner most of the time, play games, and have sleepovers. Around the neighborhood- This is where Georgie and Andy walk dogs. Georgie always walks the smaller dogs such as the poodles while Andy walks the larger dogs. Andy’s house- Where Andy and Georgie also spend time together. Like Georgie’s house, they have sleepovers and play dates here as well . The public pool- Where Georgie takes swim lessons. It’s the only sport he’s good at so he loves to go there. Settings

4. #1 Georgie’s mother is going to have another baby! When Georgie finds out all about the new baby Georgie isn’t that excited. He starts to think about how the baby may affect his life. One concern he considers is that when the baby is 5 years-old, he or she may be taller than him! Georgie decides to act excited and name the baby a secret name, baby Godzilla! #2 Russ wants to join Andy and Georgie’s dog walking group. Georgie thinks Russ is going to steal Andy away from him. He fears this will mean that he won’t have any friend at all. When Georgie’s mom get’s a baby scare on Christmas eve, Georgie spends the night at Andy’s. Later, when they see Russ at church, Andy invites him to join their dog-walking business, but Georgie explains that this is not possible. This action causes Andy and Georgie to fight over the situation. #3 Georgie has to partner with Jeanie the meanie for a project at school. One day in class, while Andy and Georgie are still mad at each other, Georgie’s teacher announces they will be doing a president play. Because they are doing the president play, they will need to “partner up” and do a president project. Georgie looks back at Andy and Russ together. There is no other partner choice. He’s stuck with Jeanie the Meanie. He’s not too excited about that! #4 Jeanie signs Georgie up for the part of Abraham Lincoln! When Jeanie and Georgie are working Jeanie goes and signs him up for the president play!!!! She signed him up for the hardest president Abraham Lincoln! He’s like ten times taller there's no way he can get out of this. #5. Georgie becomes lost! When Georgie is walking home from the pool with Jeanie behind annoying him. Andy’s Nonna offers them a ride but instead gets lost on the way. Problems

5. #1. The new baby: Georgie tries to hold in all of his anger about the news of the new addition to the family but he can’t. When his fears about the baby come out, he starts sharing all his feelings about the new baby. He runs up to his room full of anger. Georgie’s parents are able to explain that no one could replace how special he is to them. This cheers Georgie up a little and he writes a poem for the baby. #2. The dog-walking business: Russ joins Andy in the business while Georgie quits. He now has no business and does not spend time with Andy anymore. One Saturday, Georgie really wants Andy to forgive him. He is desperate for his friend. When Andy comes over, Georgie apologizes and asks to get back into the business. His one request is to walk the big dogs! #3. The president project: Georgie is partnered with the meanest kid in school! For their president project Georgie and Jeanie are running behind, so they have to meet at Jeanie’s house. Once Georgie steps foot on her driveway he notices that her brothers are calling her names and she has no mother. Georgie thinks that’s why she’s so mean to everyone at school and begins to understand her actions. #4. Georgie has to play Abraham Lincoln: Jeanie feels really bad about signing Georgie up for the president play, so she offers to help transform him. She get’s some coffee cans and puts them below his feet so he will look taller. When a friend of Allison’s starts to make fun of Georgie, Jeanie sticks up for him. After Jeanie is done with him he looks like Abraham Lincoln! Georgie does so well in the part that his parents say he stole the show! #5. Nonna Rosa gets lost while driving Georgie and Jeanie home from the pool: Jeanie starts crying, and Georgie realizes that he has a couple quarters in his pocket and can call his mom in the phone booth! Since he is unable to reach the phone, he pushes Nonna Rosa to the phone booth. Jeanie thanks Georgie for his quick thinking while she still has tears in her eyes. Solutions
