Supported Living: What is it?
Supported Living: What is it? • Supported living is where the service user has a tenancy or is the owner of the property and receives support from the agency of their choice • There can be no “tie in” between the support provider and the landlord • Supported living is not one model of support, but the term used to describe a range of services
In Supported Living, support is personalised and built around the individual’s needs, for example: Implementing individualised staff rotas with flexible shift patterns to enable tenants to take part in activities of their choice at a time they choose. Support should be structured around the individual and what they want to do. Supported living services can and do provide 24 hour support, including sleep-in or waking night support. Supported Living: What is it?
Supported living at CMG • CMG has extensive experience of providing specialist supported living services across Southern England which support people with learning disabilities and complex needs. • Our supported living services are typically set out as blocks of individual studio flats with additional shared communal areas. • All service users have their own tenancy agreements. This is managed and supported by our housing team – Tenant Liaison Officers. • All supported living services are registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
