The founding of Connecticut? • Connecticut was found in 1635/1636. • The founder was Thomas Hooker he found it in 1614 • Colonies were moving into and starting towns In future Connecticut in 1635. The towns did not join together until 1636 and the reason it was founded was because they weren’t allowed to practice his Puritan faith in his Native England. Thomas Hooker left the colony for Connecticut to find greater religious freedom.
Connecticut’s Climate • The winter’s in Connecticut were much colder than English winters . Connecticut’s summers were super hot! The terrains were hilly and covered with forest, soil was suitable for farming. Colonist used the sea to make a living with fishing and trading.
Religion in Connecticut • Since the colonies came from Puritan to Connecticut the Puritan communities, they still follow Puritan religion. Then the colonist separated their religious codes from their colonial laws.
Connecticut Industry • Connecticut’s major industry was agriculture. Top crop items included (hay , haylage, grass silage and greencrop), corn for silage and vegetables. More than 70,000 acres of shell fish farms were under cultivation and Connecticut’s costal.
