  2. Ⅰ.Teaching ideas The “standard” emphasizes the interests in learning, life experience, and cognitive level. It advocates learning English by experiencing, practicing, participating, cooperating, and communicating and the“task-based” teaching approaches. Doing it in this way will certainly develop the students’ ability of using English.

  3. Ⅱ.About the teaching material This lesson is the first period of Unit 11 Enjoying Tai Chi from EEC, Grade 8. This is an aural-oral lesson. We can improve the students’ ability of communicating in English by talking about different kinds of sports, using I enjoy/ pefer/ am fond of doing…

  4. Ⅲ.About the students The students are in Grade Eight, in this period, students are curious about English but also worried, they hope to be affirmed. And this time the students and the teacher are strangers, we do not known each other. So I will do my best to reduce the strangeness between the students and the teacher. And make them take an active part in the activities to cooperate and communicate .They will be confident in learning English.

I enjoy /prefer / hate /am fond of doing … knowledge aims Improve the students’ abilities of listening and speaking ,and the ability of communicating with the target language . Ability aims Emotion aims (1). Enjoy sports, and keep healthy. (2). Cooperate in the activities and have fun in using English.

In this lesson, students could talk a lot in English, the teacher could guide the students to speak English in different situations.

  22. Ⅸ、About blackboard design As we all know, blackboard design is the concentration and essence of a class. First I match the sign of tai chi with the word Tai Chi in the title, which can make students be in the perception of tai chi. As this class is about sports; I put six colorful signs on which there are names of six sports clubs on the blackboard. Bright and lively, these signs can also be used in groupwork. Finally, I write the sentence ‘Let’s enjoy sports and keep healthy!’ between the title and the signs. This sentence not only echos the topic but also sublimates students’ emotions.
