Food • High levels of certain minerals in your cat’s diet can increase the chance of crystal and/or stone formation.
Home Enviornment • Lack of exercise, living mainly indoors, dirty litter boxes and reduced water intake can cause cats to urinate less frequently. This can lead to infection and/or the formation of crystals or stones.
Body Condition • Overweight cats are more prone to urinary problems
Common Signs and Symptoms • Straining when urinating • Urinating in unusual places • Vocalizing when urinating • Blood in urine • Increased frequency in urination • Incontinence
