CONTENTS • GENERAL INFO OF THE CALL: CIP-2012 ICT- PSP FOR SMART CITIES • Objectives • Consortium requirements • Funding scheme • ESPIAS PROPOSAL • Objectives • Current Status • Next Steps
GENERAL INFO- OBJECTIVES OF THE CALL Smart urban digital services for energy efficiency(CIP-2012 ICT- PSP FOR SMART CITIES) • STIMULATE THE CREATION, PROVISION AND USE OF INNOVATIVE DIGITAL SERVICES SUPPORTING ENERGY-EFFICIENT, LOW-CARBON ACTIVITIES IN AN URBAN CONTEXT. • THOSE SERVICES SHOULD BUILD ON AND INTEROPERATE WITH EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURES. THEY MAY INCLUDE: • DIGITAL SOLUTIONS TO FACILITATE ENERGY-EFFICIENT • SMART PROCESSES • TRANSFORMATIONAL APPROACHES TO DRIVE NEW VALUES AND NEW BEHAVIOURS. • DO NOT SUPPORT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES. • USER FRIENDLY ICT PILOTS (FOR DATA COLLECTION, STORAGE, EXECUTION OF INNOVATIVE MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL ALGORITHMS AND USER FRIENDLY INTERACTION) FOR ACHIEVING SYSTEMIC ENERGY EFFICIENCIES AND EMISSIONS REDUCTION IN CITIES • THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ENSURE THAT ENERGY SAVINGS FROM ICT ENABLED NEW BUSINESS MODELS ARE GREATER THAN THE COST FOR THE PROVISION OF THOSE SERVICES.
GENERAL INFO- CONSORTIUM COMPOSITION • CONSORTIUM CHARACTERISTICS: • ALL NECESSARY STAKEHOLDERS IN THE VALUE-CHAIN FOR DEPLOYING THE SERVICE (E.G. SERVICE AND CONTENT PROVIDERS, INDUSTRIES INCLUDING SMES, END-USER REPRESENTATIVES, ETC). • SMES ARE CONSIDERED IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTORS TO INNOVATION. • TYPE OF MANDATORY PARTNERS (TARGET GROUP!): • ESCOs • ICT PROVIDERS • BUILDING MANAGERS • ENSURE ACCEPTANCE AND UPTAKE, INVOLVING PUBLIC AUTHORITIES (LEVEL: NATIONAL, REGIONAL OR LOCAL) • A MINIMUM OF FOUR MUTUALLY-INDEPENDENT LEGAL ENTITIES FROM FOUR DIFFERENT EU MEMBER STATES OR ICT PSP ASSOCIATED COUNTRIES.
GENERAL INFO- FUNDING SCHEME • FUNDING INSTRUMENT: • EU FUNDING FOR THE PILOT TYPE B 2-4 M€. • THE EU FUNDS THE 50% OF THE TOTAL COSTS OF THE PROJECT • ELEGIBLE COSTS: • PERSONNEL • SUBCONTRACTING • OTHER SPECIFIC DIRECT COSTS TO IMPLEMENT THE PILOT B • INDIRECT COSTS: 30% OF PERSONNEL COSTS • DEADLINE: MAY 15TH, 2012 AT 17:00 (GMT+1)
ESPIAS PROPOSAL-OBJECTIVES (1) CONTEXT: PUBLIC BUILDINGS (TARGET BUILDINGS FOR ESPIAS) USUALLY ARE LACKING: • EFFICIENT HOT WATER PRODUCTION • EFFICIENT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS • EFFECTIVE ILUMINATIONS SYSTEMS • EFFICIENT RENEWAL OF AIR. MAIN OBJECTIVE: IMPLEMENT PILOTS ON PUBLIC BUILDINGS BY USING AUTOMATED COMMERCIAL OVER-THE-COUNTER SYSTEMS (COTS) IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE ENERGY- EFFICIENCY RELATED PARAMETERS.
ESPIAS PROPOSAL-OBJECTIVES (2) • DETAILED OBJECTIVES OF ESPIAS: • CREATE NEW ENERGY SERVICES • BASED ON THE USER-FRIENDLY ICT-BASED CENTRALIZED SOLUTION EMMOS • IN ORDER TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN PUBLIC BUILDINGS, THROUGH MONITORING BUILDINGS. • TESTING THE SERVICES IN DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS (CLUSTERS) IN ORDER TO REFINE AND CUSTOMIZE THEM. • EXPECTED IMPACT OF ESPIAS : • FACILITATE MANAGERS OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS TO OPTIMIZE THEIR ENERGY COMSUPTION USING THE NEW SERVICES. • ESTABLISH COMMON METHODOLOGY TO CONTROL AND MONITOR THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF BUILDINGS IN DIFFERENT ECOSYSTEMS.
ESPIAS PROPOSAL-EMMOS • Energy Management and Monitoring Operational System: • ICT SOLUTION TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE ESCOs´ BUSINESS MODEL. • CURRENT FUNCTIONALITIES: • Gathering Energy Consumption Data from buildings • Manual and Automatic data collation. • Ability to compare all buildings performance in a consistent manner • Flexible Reporting with ability to quickly generate standard reports • Alarm and energy monitoring • Benchmarking of building performance • Analysing Energy Savings Vs Investment • FUNCTIONALITIES UNDER DEVELOPMENT (2012) • Different meters/systems/locations/data formats/measures • Independent of an individual BMS supplier
