  1. FCAT ROAR When I start the FCAT, here’s what I have to do Look at each selection, all the way through. Then I know what’s coming up, I know for “shore” ‘cause I know how to do, the FCAT ROAR!!! Read the 1st paragraph, then I have to STOP!! Find the main idea; it’s at the bottom or the top. What’s the author want me to remember? I must say. Quick underline it, next paragraph, on my way. FCAT, FCAT, scary no more, ‘cause I know how to do the FCAT ROAR!!

  2. Read the 1st question is what I have to do Mark the level a 1 or a 2 Next make a simple note of question type. There are only 6 choices, so what’s the hype? Main idea, author’s purpose, compare and contrast Cause and effect, research and reference Finally words and phrases known as vocab With this information answering won’t be so bad.

  3. Process of Elimination; tell me what it’s NOT. Cross 2 choices off and then I will STOP!!! (to be read slowly) Slowly read the question, my choices are 2 If I don’t know the answer, the text holds the clue. Choose the best answer, move on to do some more Repeat all the steps of the FCAT ROAR!!! FCAT, FCAT, scary no more, ‘cause I know how to do the FCAT ROAR!!!
