  3. Solution: Green Roofs • Two Types: extensive and intensive • Controlling runoff • 50-60 percent decrease in runoff • Peak flow reduced by 50 percent

  4. Problems? • The cost • Extensive- 8 to 20 dollars per square foot • Intensive- 15 to 25 dollars per square foot • Other considerations • Maintenance, labor fees, rented equipments, etc.

  5. Other Benefits • Lengthen the life of infrastructure, pipes, etc. • Metal health • Reduce heat island effects • Save on energy consumption • Create a tax benefit?
