Why do organizations need teams? • Teams outperform individuals acting alone or in large organizational groups,especially when performance requires multiple skills, judgements and experiences. • Most people recognize the capabilities of teams, and most have the common sense to make teams work. • Teams are profitable!
Why do people need teams? • Security (support system) • Status • Self-esteem • Affiliation (sense of belonging – Teams are Fun!) • Power (strength in numbers) • Goal Achievement
