Certifying Enrollments with the VSO • Each student is responsible for informing the Veteran Services Office when they have registered for classes • If the VSO has not been informed of an enrollment or changes in enrollment, a certification will not be sent off • If a class is added or dropped at any time, the VSO needs to be informed as well so the appropriate amendments can be made • Keep in mind that this is a recurring event. This should be done prior to the start of each semester you are attending • Certifications for upcoming semesters can be sent starting 60 days prior to first day of class • We may initially report $0 for Tuition and Fees to make sure we report early enough to get monthly payment scheduled • Post 9/11 GI Bill: VA will pay Tuition and Fees to University and Book Stipend to Student no earlier than 12 days prior to 1st day of school • “Normal” processing time to schedule payments is 14 days • You will receive an e-mail at your siu.edu e-mail account when certification is submitted
