We have been finding out about the solar system and the first person to land on the moon, Neil Armstrong.
We used a piece of fruit to represent each planet. We measured the distance between each planet on the playground with a trundle wheel.
During science week we have been doing lots of experiments to see if we would be able to live on another planet. We looked at venusfirst!
On venus the clouds are full of acid so we did some experiments to find out if it would be possible to live there. We put vinegar, an acid, and added bicarbonate of soda. When they reacted with each other they blew up the balloon! We left an egg shell in vinegar over night! It had broken into lots of pieces by the morning!
After the balloon experiment we mixed the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda together in our volcanoes!!We decided we would not be able to live on Venus!
Next we wanted to find out if we could live on Saturn and its icey rings!! We experimented with ice to find out more about it!We put ice cubes in 4 different places to see which would melt the quickest. We found out the cube that was near the radiator melted the quickest.
We also talked about asteroids. We found different objects and dropped them from different heights to see which made the largest crater.
We read the book ‘Here come the aliens’ We made aliens and wrote descriptions about them.
