In his famous book Trump 2020, Michael D'Antonio gives a fascinating and complete account of how Donald Trump rose to the most powerful position in the world. It contains the accounts of those who worked for Trump during his early career, as well as those who followed him, all of whom offer candid insights into his rise to power. Anyone who is expecting a definitive biography of Trump has not been reading the first time. Instead, D'Antonio delivers a detailed account of the men and women who were there when it all began. Knowing that he was fresh off his first marriage, Ivana was first of all appointed as a confidante to the young Donald, with great importance on his part. But she soon became the person to talk to about everything and brought the two of them into close contact with his other half, Marla Maples. D'Antonio describes how they grew closer and further apart, as Trump embarked on a life of high living, fuelled by his ego. His own best interests were no longer a priority, rather he was unable to abandon the spotlight, and carried on as if he had never married Ivana. He never stopped extolling the virtues of his brand of capitalism, even while maintaining an expensive lifestyle. Trump's first three marriages produced no children, but Ivana was quick to use the children as leverage. When she appeared before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, Ivana once again used her children as weapons, to gain a higher court ruling against her husband. Even though the divorce was never final, Ivana was able to extract a large amount of money from her husband, and obtained full custody of their son, from him. He would go on to have a string of marriages, with women who would become his second wife, Marla Maples, and Lisa Marie Presley, and he remained embroiled in battles with the legal system. All of these issues come to a head, as the name of his fourth wife, the Czech born, Lisa Marie Presley, resurfaces, and a witness claims to have seen him urinating on the side of her bed. Donald Jr. then learned of the affair and informed his father, who then fired her, and his suspicions were proven right. With this affair in his past, Donald could now focus on building a successful business empire. The campaign began, and Donald managed to win the most votes in the primary process, all the while being sued by the United States. The case was eventually thrown out of court. Nevertheless, Trump found another fight and won his case, against a Mexican American, who had launched a lawsuit claiming that Trump had discriminated against her by calling her a "rapist" while at https://trump2020-store.com/ the polls. Trump won and continued to build his name, through shrewd political deals. He was also accused of spending much of his time hanging around his office, instead of spending time with his family. Finally, when his daughter Ivanka was going to give birth to twins, she encouraged her father to run for president. Having never held office before, and having little experience, Trump turned the move into a chance to make a name for himself. Following his election as president, D'Antonio illustrates how Trump did what presidents are supposed to do and continued to consolidate his power, hiring a team of elite political operatives. He has also forged alliances with politicians, from both parties, and has managed to solidify his position.
