Grievances of the American Colonists • Taxation without their consent • Colonists did not have representation in Parliament • Colonists did not think they were receiving rights as Englishmen • Britain was slowly taking away the colonists right to govern themselves
Response to Grievances Colonists respond with the First Continental Congress and write a letter to King George III with complaints. • Their GOALwas to be heard and gain fair treatment When the king does not give in to demands the American Revolution begins.
