GOAL OF THE CHECK-UPS Provide parents with information concerning their child’s reading ability, offer the tools needed to assist their child with reading, and promote reading in the home.
GETTING STARTED Apply for Grant http://www.illinoisreadingcouncil.org/awardsgrants.html Get teachers on board – Decide who will be involved Order supplies Assess students to get a reading level Send parent letter explaining the reason for the check-ups Schedule appointments Prepare folders to share with parents

How to get a library card To Obtain or Renew Your Library Card The Belleville Public Library is funded by your property taxes, making it possible for you to obtain a library card at no additional charge as a City of Belleville resident. Please bring the following information with you to the library: Belleville Residents Your photo ID A piece of business mail (utility bill, bank statement, etc.) dated within the last 30 days as proof of residency Belleville Public Library Non-Residents Your photo ID A piece of business mail (utility bill, bank statement, etc.) As a Non-resident, the cost of a one-year library card is a flat fee of $63 Juveniles Applications for juveniles under the age of 18 must be completed in the library with both child and parent/legal guardian present. Juveniles under the age of 18 will be linked to the parent or legal guardian. Library cards are processed during business hours until 30 minutes prior to closing.

His reading skills have improved dramatically; I really appreciate everything you all are doing with helping Taron with his reading.; I wish we could do this for more of the learning…like MATH; It really does help me to understand where Ranasia is with her reading; Very helpful, Thank you.
