Creating a New Policy Step 2: Presentation of Concerns to Administration • Multiple ways this can be done: • Letter to the President/Administration • Email • Formal presentation • Meeting • The aim is to present campus concerns to the administration and request a formal review of the policy. • The goal is to have a formal policy workgroup appointed by the president.
Creating a New Policy Step 3: Formation of a Policy Workgroup • Broad representation of campus constituencies. • Student rep from senate or SHAC • Staff • Faculty • Student Affairs • Facilities Management • Campus Security • Administration • Charged with information gathering and making recommendations. Not final decision.

Creating a New Policy Step 5: Presenting & Communicating Information • Present information to campus administration • Post all workgroup findings on a campus website for campus community to review Step 6: Final Policy Decision • Change or No Change?
