Speaker Credibility • Definition: • An audience’s perception of a speaker’s competence, trustworthiness, and dynamism. • Importance: • Motivates the audience to listen
Types of Credibility • Initial • Listener’s impression BEFORE you start speaking. • Derived • Listener’s impression AS you are speaking. • Terminal • Listener’s impression AFTER you have finished speaking.
