  1. VocabularyPoster Talk The man in this poster dropped his groceries. Apparently, the flimsybag tore. It was not very strong. It ripped while the man was looking at the unusual light fixtures above the door. They look almost like starfish! As this boy and his mother pass by on their way in, the boy offers to help the man pick up his groceries. The man thanks the boy but says that he will survive on his own. He explains that he doesn’t subscribe to, or believe in, the idea that you should let other people do things for you when you can do them yourself. The incident helps the boy learn that it is important to help others in your community, but it is also important to help yourself.
