  1. Classical India Review Game Adam Kim, Pallavi Bhave, Shruti Anant

  2. General Rules • There are 4 teams: Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Sudras • One person from each team must be designated as the official spokesperson. • Teams go in order, with the highest caste going first. Regardless of correct or incorrect answer, the teams answer questions in order. • Incorrect answers are worth zero points. • Each team gets 20 seconds after the question is read. Teams may discuss with each other, but only the spokesperson can give the final answer. Questions may not be stolen. • If a team answers incorrectly or passes the time limit, the question automatically goes to the Brahmins, the highest caste. If the Brahmins gets the question right, they get 5 points. If they get it wrong, they lose 5 points. Brahmins also have the option to not answer the question. • This trivia game has 3 rounds in increasing difficulty. Each team gets 2 questions a round.

  3. Mini Unscrambling Game • Each caste team is assigned a different mystery word they can unscramble. This word relates to Classical India. This mini game offers an opportunity to gain extra points. • Each time a team answers a question correctly, the team will be given a slip of paper that contains a letter from their 6 letter mystery word. By answering questions correctly, the teams gather the letters of the word they have to guess. • At the endof each round, teams can guess their word based on their unscrambling of the letters they have collected. Teams have only one chance to guess their mystery word. • The FIRST team to unscramble their word correctly, gets 100 points added to their total. Each team after that gets 25 points less. If teams guess their word correctly in the same round, they receive the same number of points. • (Solving the mini game is optional and any team that does not unscramble the word receives 0 extra points)

  4. Rules by Caste • Each team has special assets based on the position of their caste • Brahmins, as the priests and teachers, help the other castes. Sudras, the lowest members of the system, can ask Brahmins for help 3 times-- this works like a lifeline. The Brahmins are requiredto help and if they give the correct answer they receive half the points of the question. If the Brahmins do not give the correct answer, both teams receive zero points. The Sudras must ask for help WITHIN their 20 second answer time. If they ask for help, the Brahmins get 15 seconds to answer and the Sudras cannot answer once the question has been passed to the Brahmins. • Kshatriyas, as the warriors and rulers, have the power to stop any ONE person from another team from helping their team answer a question. If the spokesperson is chosen, another team member can give the final answer. This privilege must be used against an opposing team BEFOREthe question is read out. This privilege can only be used 3 times. • Vaisyas, as the merchants and traders, can tradetheir questions. If the Vaisya team decides they cannot answer a question, they have the opportunity to receive a new question. This trade must be done within 10 seconds of receiving the question. Only one trade can be done each round. The Vaisyas can swap questions 3 times.
