  1. Who is Jesus? Part II John 5:17-30

  2. Who is Jesus? • Unity • Authority • Honor

  3. Ephesians 2:1-10 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world…4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ

  4. John 8:47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.

  5. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

  6. John 12:48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

  7. 1John 1:2 …the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us

  8. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  9. John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

  10. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

  11. John 10:10-11 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

  12. Acts 2:24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

  13. Acts 3:15 …and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead.

  14. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

  15. AW Pink Two things are here mentioned which are evidences and results of having everlasting life, though they are usually regarded as two conditions. The hearing ear and the believing heart are the consequences of having eternal life and not the qualifications for obtaining it. Then it is added, "and shall not come into condemnation’’: this guarantees the future—"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1).

  16. 1 John 5:10-12 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

  17. Romans 8:23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

  18. Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

  19. AW Pink As they had sinned in physical bodies so shall they suffer in physical bodies.

  20. Ryle Whether they like it or not, they will have to come forth from their graves at the last day, and to stand at Christ’s bar. None can escape His summons. When His voice calls them before Him, all must obey. When men rise again, they will not all rise in the same condition. There will be two classes – two parties – two bodies. Not all will go to heaven. Not all will be saved.
