  4. How did they get here? • Came from Asia approximately 30,000 years ago on a land bridge • ice age glaciers • nomads

  6. Developing Culture • Agricultural Revolution • Began in Mexico 3,500 years ago • Common in the present U.S. by 1,200 A.D.

  7. Common Cultural Features • Political Power spread among local chiefs & elders, not centralized • Everything has a spirit • Owned little private property, extreme respect for nature • Respectful equality • Work divided among gender lines
