The 6 Positions! • There are six recognized sleeping positions.... • Fetus • Log • Yearner • Solider • Freefall • Starfish http://www.flatseats.com/General/positions.htm
The Experiment • An experiment was performed in Britain on 1,000 Brits to determine common sleeping positions. Six positions were revealed and personality types were compiled. • This experiment was done by Chris Idzikowski, director of the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Services in Britain.
The Fetus Position (41%) • This is the most common position. • Women are twice as likely to sleep this way. • Personality wise, these people have tough exteriors but are still sensitive. • They may appear shy at first but will eventually will warm up. http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
The Log Position (15%) • This person is said to be trusting, easy going, and gullible. • It is also common for this person to be very socialable. http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
The Yearner Position (13%) • The yearner is a somewhat contradictory person. • They are said to be open minded but also stubborn. • They are cynical and suspicious. • http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
The Soldier Position (8%) • The soldiers personality is quiet and reserved. • They are likely perfectionist because of the high standards they hold themselves and others to. • Soldiers have a higher probability of snoring and restless sleep. • http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
The Freefall Position (7%) • Freefallers are known to be brash, outgoing, and very uncomfortable with criticism. • They are likely to be a little self-centered and narrow-minded. • http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
The Starfish Position (5%) • Starfish hate being the center of attention but are often nosy. • They are very helpful people that are usually good listeners. • They are likely to snore and have restless nights. • http://www.end-your-sleep-deprivation.com/sleeping-positions.html
Under the covers • Dr. Idzikowski’s study shows that one out of ten people sleep completely covered during the night. • Although his study neglects to give a personality type for these people, another study does. • The study suggest that these people may seem macho in public, but are shy and weak on the inside. They are likely to keep secrets and agonize over problems. http://barelyawakeinfrogpajamas.wordpress.com/2010/01/
Change Positions?? • If you think that you can not be pinned down to one of these positions, then you are probably mistaken. • Dr. Idzikowski’s study showed that although people tend to think they sleep differently, most people stay in the same position all night and only 5% change positions night to night.
