Objectives of this session Model some strategies you might use/adapt for your class Develop teaming Reflect on the strategic goals and start to uncover Share info on TLT
What am I? As a group you must discover the identity of one object Each group will receive an envelope with clues to the same object. Each person should select a clue. Some people will receive additional clues Do not show your clue to anyone! Share your clues with your group and between you, work out what the thing is.
What am I? My teeth are very sharp I vibrate Sometimes I’m fast, sometimes I’m slow I create volume (both sound and substance) I take it rough and make it smooth I am sometimes connected, but mostly disconnected I’m a change agent
Teaming Strategies • Flexible grouping • Designed to get people who don’t know each other or don’t normally work together interacting • Collaborative problem solving exercise • Open communication • Sharing information • Team roles • Some people had additional roles: • Dominator, optimist, saboteur, non-participant, equalizer

Goals are clear, challenging yet attainable • Flexibility: members are flexible and willing to play different roles as needed. They use different methods to solve problems and make decisions • Open Communication: listening is as important as speaking. Differences of opinion are encouraged and methods of resolving conflict are understood • Recognition and Rewards: individuals feel they are well regarded in the group and are valued • Morale: individuals feel good about being in the group and there is a sense of cohesion and satisfaction

The Strategic Goals Goal One: To deliver a rich and balanced learning program for all students that provides meaningful opportunities for achievement and personal growth. Goal Two: To ensure that students' learning experiences are integrated through meaningful connections across the curriculum and delivered through an inquiry approach. Goal Three: To meet the individual academic and social-and-emotional needs of each student through coherent PK-12 systems and quality differentiated teaching. Goal Four: To build a strong sense of belonging and contributing to a community, within, around, and beyond the school.
