Join the Tenner Tycoon challenge where students are loaned £10 to make a profit in teams. You have 4 weeks to create a business without breaking the law or selling certain items. Awards for the most profitable business and the outstanding individual. Get inspired by business ideas from year 9 students like re-designing clothes and selling on eBay or providing unique services. Think creatively about what people need daily and dislike doing. Develop a business plan focusing on target customers, attention-grabbing methods, product/service delivery, pricing, and profitability. Embrace the concept of social enterprise to earn money while creating a positive impact.

Hair-straightening & henna service after school Lunchtime movie club Dog walking for people on your street GREAT BUSINESS IDEAS FROM YEAR 9 Re-design clothes from charity shops and sell them on Ebay Selling handmade bracelets Selling products at the local horse stables Selling mobile phone covers

  6. What do people want / need every day? What do people hate / want to avoid doing? eg cleaning the house eg shop, cook & eat

  7. Think the opposite! Product / Service people use Opposite Business idea to provide the opposite People go to Tesco to shop Home shopping delivery service People shop from home

  8. Effective? Affordable? Legal? REALISTIC?

  9. BUSINESS BASICS What’s your great business idea? Who is your target customer? How will you get their attention? How will you provide the product or service? Price - Cost = Profit
